Passport Application - Frances Kissinger Shaw - 1918

Frances (Fanny) Kissinger Shaw, the daughter of Frank Kissinger, was born at Fordsville 20 February 1882.  She states that she left the United States in 1913 and that she now resides in Santiago, Chile. I have not been able to find the name of her husband or any information regarding her death.

Note: My friend and fellow Ohio County researcher, Janice Brown, emailed me with more information about Frances. Her parents were Sebastian Frank Kissinger (1837-1931) and Roseannah Slaughter (1845-1931). Frances was the 6th of 9 children (William B.; Rosa Belle; John A.; Andrew M.; Charles P.; Frances; Eliza M.; James Henry; and Ida).  I have not been able to identify her husband, other than Shaw being his surname.  Note that the Passport refers to a niece (Carmen) with the last name of Shaw.

  1. Does anyone know why she decided to move to Santiago, Chile? My g-grandfather James Henry Kissinger, who was her older brother, disappeared from Galveston, TX in 1903 and legend has it that he ran away to South America. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!!
