Passport Application - Albert Joy Rains - 1918 & 1920

Albert Joy Rains, son of Robert Houston Rains and Martha Evelyn Liles, was born at Rosine 24 September 1885, although he used various other dates in his four passport applications.  By 1910 he was living in New Orleans and his occupation was shown as oil driller for the Mexico Gulf Oil Company. His WWI Draft Registration (1918) shows that he is unmarried and lists his place of employment as Tampico, Mexico.  All of the passport applications mention Tampico, Mexico.  Albert died at Tampico, Mexico on 19 December 1951, at age 66.  His death certificate describes the following related individuals:  his widow, Carmen Flores Viuda de Rains; a sister, Mrs. Prosha McDowell, of Beaver Dam; and a niece, Reatha Nall, of Evansville, Indiana.
