CLAY ALLISON BAIRD


          CLAY ALLISON BAIRD, son of Andrew Lenn Baird (1874-1947) and Martha Ann “Mattie” McMillan (1877-1960).  Clay was one of eight children.  In 1930 he lived in Bloomington, IN and worked as a cabinet maker for Showers Brothers Company.  On 16 Feb 1942, shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Clay registered for the draft for WWII and the registration showed that the family lived in Cromwell, Ohio County and that he worked for the W. P. A. at Ft. Knox.

          Clay was born 4 Nov 1900, Heflin, Ohio County and died 25 Aug 1986, Hartford, Ohio County. He is buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Buford, Ohio County.  Clay married Ethel Carter Richeson (1900-1993) and they had seven children: Betty Jean Baird (1925-1943), Robert Louis Baird (1928-2006), William Bruce Baird (1930-1993), Rex Len Baird (1935-2011), Martha May Baird (1931-2014), Wilma Loreen Baird (1937-  ), and Wesley C. Baird (1940- ).
