CORINNA L. MORTON
Daughter of
Isaac Morton (1787 – aft 1870), a merchant, and Sarah “Sally” H. Shanks (1803 –
1869). Corinna was born about 1824, Ohio County, KY.
Corinna died 10 Apr 1902 in Mount Vernon, Illinois and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Mount Vernon.
On 7 Jan
1845 Corinna married Dr. Willis Duff Green, who was born in the 1821 near Danville, Kentucky. Dr. Green and Corinna lived in Mount Vernon, Illinois,
where he practiced medicine and was prominent in business, including part
ownership of the first railroad into Mount
Vernon. Dr.
Green and Corinna had ten children: Alfred M., an attorney in Gainesville,
Texas; Inez I., an instructor in Southern Illinois Normal University; Laura
Reed; Minnie; William H., a Judge of the Circuit Court of Illinois; Earl, a
physician in Mount Vernon; Duff, Cora Lee; Maidelyn F.; and Lucille.

I suspect
Corinna’s death was caused by cholera because one of her adult children, Cora
Lee Green, died a few days after Corinna.
Dr. Green,
Corinna’s husband, died in September 1904.
