If you have an ancestor that served in the US military, there are some military records available online, for free, and in some cases you can request additional records from the National Archives. There is a fee for some records. Some records are "Discharge Papers" - these are generally called a document called a DD-214. I found a list of WWII Prisoners of War and that can be searched by state and by name, but not by county or city. I searched for Kentucky, using the code 52 for Kentucky, and found 1,444 records, but I am unable to determine which ones are from Ohio County. I found a familiar name, Casebier, which might be one of ours, and here is that record:
